In the beginning, Hagonoy was just a part of Calumpit and founded in 1771. The name Hagonoy was originated from a medicinal plant called AGONOY. The place was a long ridge of land and had a lake in the end.
Hagonoy shares its boundary with the towns of Calumpit and Paombong in Bulacan and Masantol in Pampanga province. It is basically a fishing town with the Manila bay areas as its fishing ground, which extends up to the provinces of Cavite, Pampanga and Bataan.
The people of Hagonoy are known to be very hospitable. Visitors’ to this place could attest to this especially during fiestas. They are treated with smiles by their hosts as they feast on sumptuous foods, especially prepared.
Yearly fiestas are held in our town to honor our patron saints. Many people here hold fiesta observance sacred. We are deeply attached to religion and are faithful to Christian life. Our religiousness is typically shown by the names of our barrios. 19 barrios were named after saints of the 26 barrios of my town.

Alma mater is Latin word for “nourishing mother”. Alma mater is a school you graduated from..Hagonoy Instiute is my alma mater, i spent my high school days here. All the unforgetable memories of being teenagers.. Secondary schooling is really memorable…during these years i found my real friends…and untill now we are still friends…
The crushes, first love, unbeatable circle of friends and lots of ponder memories.. Those are the days that memories will last forever..We all agree that high school is far different from college life..Isnt it?

These two words are simple enough to say but yet very difficult for some to deliver. It’s important to learn how to genuinely say “Thank You”. Others may think it’s arrogant, but if delivered properly it is a very humbling action that shows gratitude and appreciation. Saying thank you is always a nice gesture, particularly when you show your appreciation. Thanking is rightly accorded great significance in relationships. In fact, be it strangers or your most loved ones, we are always expected to thank so as to convey our gratitude to the other person.
