How to Have Restaurant Etiquette..

kare kare
Dining out should be a delightful experience for you and for guests seated around you. Here are some guidelines for how to behave when your out in public eating.
Be polite to your server. Understand that this person is serving you a meal and this is their job. Treat the individual who stands before you with some respect. Waiters and waitresses have a very difficult job and it doesn’t matter who you think you are, you must remember that this person is a human being trying to make a living.
Have some dignity and respect for the people who are dining around you. If by nature you have an incredibly loud mouth this should be the time when you tone it down considerably. The guests that come out to a restaurant are all looking to have a quiet and enjoyable dinner, people around you do not want to hear your entire conversation. Keep this in mind, as intriguing as you may like to think your story sounds to you…it is meant to be shared between you and your own table when dining out in public.
The next step to dining etiquette is to act like an adult. The time that you have to go out to a nice dinner should be respected even as if you were in your own home. The plus of dining out is that the meal is served to you and you do not have to clean up, however, this is not a free ticket for you to act like you are dining in a pig pen. Keep the food on your table and on your plate. Trashing your dining area is a complete disaster to clean up for anyone waiting on your table.
And lastly, as you sit there and enjoy your meal there are aspects of eating that should never be displayed in a restaurant.
1. NEVER ever burp out loud at a table. (this one applies to anywhere..anytime)
2. Do not sit there and chump away with your mouth open. (no one wants to see this display of half eaten food)
3. If you would like to share a piece of your dish do so casually. (do not sit there and vigorously shake the fork until the slab of meat falls off)
4. Make sure that you tip properly. (this is very important, some think tipping is optional … it’s not!)

SAGADA

souvenier
Sagada is more popularly accessed via Baguio City.Baguio (located within Benguet province) is on the northwestern side of Luzon while Banaue, Ifugao is accessible via travel on the northeastern side of Luzon and Sagada, is in between. All three places are north of Manila.
It is good to take this route especially if you are planning to take in the majesty of Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao povince, whether from a view point en route to Sagada or if you are planning to stay for a day or two to explore the place.
This section will deal with the tricky aspect of getting to Sagada from Manila via Banaue. Tricky because there are limited rides from place to place. But all-in-all, it’s a pretty cheap vacation and great for backpackers and adventure travelers.
The good news is, although travel time is pretty long, passing through the Philippines countryside is a lovely learning experience and a pretty relaxing ride.
And let me tell you at this point that shopping for furniture and wood carvings in Banaue is fantastic, so you may want to think about staying a little longer. :D

Shortcuts or tricks you can use in IM..

keyboard
I’m pretty mouse dependent but there are a few keyboard shortcuts in Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 that I’ve added to my everyday computing life. When I’m in a conversation, these are a few of the ones I find especially time-saving: F2 (timestamps) : This will show or hide timestamps in your IM conversation. I find this helpful when I get back to my desk and a new message window is sitting there from a friend. I can’t always tell when they wrote me, so I just press F2 to see the timestamp on their message. Hit it again and the timestamps vanish. F3 (recent messages) : This is equivalent to clicking the “Recent messages” link in the IM window. It will expand to show the last conversation you had with that contact. I use this a lot to refer back to what we were discussing without having to go into my full archive (Contacts > Message Archive in the main Messenger window). F7 (display images) : Sometimes when I start an IM to a friend, our display images are missing. Rather than having to click the “Open/close display images” button in the IM window, I just hit F7 to bring them up. Hit it again to hide them. Up/down arrows (prev/next message) : This one I discovered completely by accident and you may have too. When you’re typing in the message box of an IM window, use the up arrow on your keyboard to move to the previous message you sent. Hit it repeatedly to keep working your way back through your messages; hit the down arrow to work back in the other direction. To try it out, open an IM window, place your cursor in the message area, and hit the Up arrow on your keyboard. I use this one when I need to resend a message (usually because my friend was so busy responding to an earlier topic or just missed what I wrote). So once I arrow to the one I want, I just click Send (or Enter on my keyboard) to send it again. What shortcuts or tricks do you use the most in Yahoo Messenger? ;)
